CARE PRODUCTS
CARE PRODUCTS
Day to day - man to man

Product choice for men has boomed in recent years and sometimes it's hard to keep track of what does what - here we tell it how it is by categorising available products and explaining just what they do.

Shampoos
Let's face it, the choice is bewildering. Male clients can now go for 'strengthening' shampoos; 'activating' shampoos that invigorate the scalp, encouraging growth and thickness; 'targeted' shampoos that include active ingredients for specific conditions; shampoos suitable for hair and body use or time-saving '2 in 1s', a shampoo and conditioner in one. Whatever you want, the choice is yours.

Conditioners
Men love '2 in 1' products so there is no reason to believe conditioners are just for women. There are a great variety of conditioners suitable for your individual hair type that create strong, healthy hair. The message is it's OK for men to care for their hair too.

Hair Tonics
For that little bit of 'extra help', hair tonics can clean and calm the scalp and are particularly suitable for men with an oily scalp or who are predisposed to dandruff.

COLORING PRODUCTS
COLORING PRODUCTS
For the modern man - color is cool

The world of color has truly opened up to men - no longer seen as comical or vain, the modern man can comfortably choose from a range of products that offers a solution that's totally in keeping with his style.

Fashionable Colors
Wash out color toners give men great flexibility to change their style frequently in response to the latest fashion trends, whilst permanent colors offer a more long-term solution. From footballers to fashion icons, male role models are experimenting with color - bold blonde highlights, attention-grabbing, multi-colored looks and expressive fashion colors with saturated purple, red or violet are often seen in the media.

Grey Hair Coverage
In a man's world, grey hair can either symbolize a premature loss of youth or the transition into the golden years of mature sophistication. For those worried about the effect of grey hair - a host of colorants from tone-on-tone to permanent color can help restore an even natural tone without appearing obviously coloured.

STYLING PRODUCTS
Making the most of versatility and style

Today the 'one tub of hair gel' no longer does the business - men demand a bigger tool kit of styling products to manage their hair in the modern world. Some guys want a matt finish; others want a defined shape that's locked solid, while often men may just want a natural textured look.

Such demand continues to produce a wide range of sophisticated styling technology as a committed response from the hair industry to cater for the ever increasing male styling trend.

MEN'S STYLES
MEN'S STYLES
Classic to contemporary - it's all about style

Men's hair is now varied and inspiring, check out a selection of our contemporary styles here:

Short Cuts
Always a favourite, short styles can be dressed with wax or styling cream to reflect a fashion forward look or a classic clean cut. Choppy, textured, smooth or messed-up short styles can have a lot going on.

Longer Cuts
The longer the look the more natural hair texture will impact a style. Modern hair sprays and gels can be used to add hold or exaggerate natural texture giving men plenty of choice in style.

Close Shave
Shaved close to the skin or cut a little long, head hugging styles are a great way to minimise the appearance of hair loss - think Bruce Willis for a positive example!

DANDRUFF
DANDRUFF
What is it and how to beat it

Up to 40% of men have dandruff or Pityriasis, the familiar dusting on the collars of their dark suits. But don't worry - here's how to fight the flake.

Why me?
Dandruff can be bacterial or fungal, due to poor circulation or poor hygiene. Sometimes the cause can be as simple as product build-up, so rinsing the hair thoroughly after shampooing or conditioning could combat the problem before you turn to other treatments.

Treatment Time
Don't panic there are many treatments available for dandruff such as special shampoos and scalp exfoliators that contain the active ingredient Octopirox which is designed to remove dandruff and prevent it returning after regular use.

HAIR LOSS
HAIR LOSS
Looking after what you've got

Everyone loses their hair at a rate of around 100-150 strands of hair each day. But don't fear as it's all part of the natural cycle of hair growth.

Hereditary hair loss, which is common in men, occurs when the growth cycle shortens. Each time a new strand of hair grows it is shorter, finer and lighter than before. Eventually the body does not replace the fallen hair and this is when receding hairlines and baldness appear.

Don't just blame it on the parents
Hair loss is mainly genetic but regular use of specialist tonics and shampoos can increase growth rates by up to 22% and density by up to 24%. Look for products that contain the active ingredient Carnitine Tartrate which is designed to activate and energise the hair roots and scalp.

Bald truth
Hair loss can sometimes be temporary due to high levels of stress or in reaction to prescription drugs or hormonal changes. In these circumstances you should refer to a skin specialist or doctor.

Go easy
If you consider yourself high risk for hair loss then make sure you follow a structured care regime. Select the most appropriate shampoo for your hair type and use a conditioner to close the cuticle layer - protecting the hair shaft from damage. Dry your hair gently and avoid any kind of processes such as colour or perm which can further stress your hair.
