CROP YOUR HAIR!
CROP YOUR HAIR!
New hairstyle, new self-confidence!

If one listens to the virtually unanimous chorus of masculine taste, women should have long hair. The longer, the better: This is the conclusion of various internet chat rooms. Lea has other ideas. She has grown bored with her long hair and grown out layers, and therefore has allowed us to accompany her to the salon. "My hairstyle annoys me! I always have to show my ID, because everyone thinks I am younger", laments the 21 year old. "I finally would like a hairstyle that suits me and any occasion. I am sporty, so I will need to be able to put my hair in a ponytail. But I also want a look that makes me look more grown up-that gets me into a club or disco when I go out", Lea tells the hairdresser. Master hairdresser Stefan Jacob helps her find a new look and also shows her how to style it with the help of a blow dryer and the right styling products.

Time for a new, bold cut
Time for a new, bold cut

Master hairdresser Stefan Jacob shows no mercy! The frayed lengths have got to go. He recommends Lea a chin-length bob, and cuts an even bob with uniform side sections and soft layers in back, which help to add volume.

The finishing touch

As a special highlight, Lea gets a new fringe. First, he trims the pinned up sections and blends them into the cut. Her straight fringe extends to the brow line and accentuates her blue eyes. Stefan Jacob then shows her a few easy styling tricks for her new look.

Styling tips for every day
Styling tips for every day

For every day, Stefan recommends applying a volumising styling mousse
(e.g., from Taft), blow drying hair upside down and then shaping it using
a paddle brush and the cool shot button of the blow dryer. Particularly
striking is the contrast between her new fringe and side part, which
creates using a rat tail comb in her already dry hair. Then she blow
dries her fringe under over a wide round brush. Finally, she sets the
entire look with a volume hairspray.

When working out, Lea can also create a ponytail with her new haircut,
so that her hair does not fall into her face. Here too, her new side part
creates a chic effect.
To ensure that her hair stays in place during exercise, Lea sets it with
an ultra hold hairspray (here: got2be).

For a glamorous party, Stefan recommends that Lea style her bob straight
and ultra sleek. This look makes the 21 year old look grown up and has
an extravagant touch. She takes a walnut-sized amount of smoothing balm
(e.g., got2be) and rubs it between her palms before applying it to combed
and towel-dried hair. Stefan advises that the balm be applied evenly and
not too thickly to achieve optimal results. Then Lea creates a middle part
and blow dries her hair straight in sections over a paddle brush. She holds
the dryer in the direction of hair growth to create extra shine. A shine wax
(e.g., Taft) creates even more shine and a smooth finish, which she also
rubs between her palms and smoothes over the uppermost strands of hair
from the part line to the ends.

For rollicking disco evenings with friends, Stefan Jacob shows her how to
create a more relaxed, yet still structured hairstyle with her new bob.
With a blow drying spray (e.g., Taft), she Lea enjoy optimum control
when styling. Lea blow dries the side sections ultra straight, then dries
the section in back while raising it with a brush to add volume at the
roots. Lea lifts the hair along the neck with her fingertips while spraying
a power hairspray at the roots. Finally, she accentuates individual
strands by rubbing a shine creating gel wax between her fingers
(e.g., Taft) and tousling her hair into place.

Eye-catching and sexy!

When Lea is in the mood for a wilder look, she can transform her new
haircut into a wild mane. After applying a strong hold styling mousse
(e.g., got2be), she blow dries her hair upside down while straightening
individual sections with a paddle brush. Then she lies her head back and
sculpts the sections in back with her fingers so that individual strands
are directed forward and swirl about her face. For ultimate hold, Lea uses
fibre gum from got2be, which she rubs between her fingertips and works
into individual strands. For extreme hold, she applies a hairspray with
24-hour hold (also got2be) to finish.

Lea is enthusiastic about her transformation: "I am completely thrilled
with my new look and excited about how my girlfriends will react when
we go out tonight. Thanks to Stefan`s styling tips, I think I will definitely
make it past the bouncer!"
